Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years prior experience in an acute care setting is preferred
  • Prior experience in Maternal Child Health is preferred
  •  Prior experience with Electronic Birth Certificate is preferred

Responsibilities

A day in the life of an Electronic Birth Certificate Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes

  • Prepares birth certificate information packets. Checks and explains contents of birth certificate forms to
    parents.
  • Assists families, staff and physicians with the completion of the birth certificate information.
  • Handles complicated birth certificates such as single mothers, mothers who are separated and special
    cultural aspects.
  • Ensures that the data is entered into the EBC/VIP System accurately. Maintains communication with
    the NJDOH and local DOH in a courteous and efficient manner. Ensures that data is sent (polled) to the
    NJDOH on time as required.
  • Assists the Nurse Manager with the completion of statistical data including reports and other documents.
  • Assists the nursing staff on the nursing unit when needed.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
